Bermuda is my favorite place in the world. I first visited the island when I was 11 years old, and came back ten years later with my husband for our honeymoon. We have been back many times since and I always love it here - it's my happy place.
So when I saw that our cruise corresponded with Day 200 of this project, I figured I'd make my photo of the day my favorite view in the world., which is Hamilton Harbour as seen from the ferry Easy, right?
Not so easy. For starters, while Bermuda has had drought conditions all summer, it has rained for the past two days. But I figured I wouldn't let that stop me. So I took the ferry, sat inside, and had a lovely talk with some fellow passengers until we got close to Hamilton. Then I went upstairs, took out my camera, and - discovered that my lens had fogged up. Ugh!
So I found a camera shop on Reid Street, bought a camera cloth, and did some other shopping (basically, trekking around until I found a store that carried Cadbury Dream bars, which I love but which aren't sold in the States).
So after all that, I took my soggy self back to the ferry and took my pictures. I didn't get the sunshiny view that is so breathtakingly gorgeous, but I did get a coupe of decent shots off.
The next time I come back (and if you know how I feel about Bermuda, you know that there will be a next time), I'll shoot the scene again in the sunshine.
