Pilings 2, critique requested

This is a retake of the original pilings photo. Same time of day, but the tide was much higher. Also, I held the exposure open much longer in this shot. Not sure that I like this one as much. I think I'll head back out there Sunday evening when the tide will be a bit lower (tho not as low as the original) and shorten my exposure back to 13 seconds in order to get a little more detail.

sensor dust in sky could be cloned out. Maybe a bit too much sand but I like the increased spaciousness. The clarity on the pier has suffered with either the longer exposure or where you chose your focus point. I still like this shot a lot so I hope you'll go back for more!

I like the original better but that is me. The reflections are good here. Just not sure I like the sand strip.

Now I've come back to this one again I still think this one is good too. Decisions, decisions.
I hadn't noticed the sensor dust until Jane commented on it. I thought it was just my dusty monitor, ha ha.
It could still take a bit more sky and a bit less sand, that will give the picture somewhere to go as you look at it.
I'll have to fav this one too as I just love the subject.

It looks so tranquil, will have to view on my PC.

@jgpittenger @joansmor @onewing thanks you guys!!! I cleaned the sensor dust in PS before taking it over to Silver Efex. I think SE didn't recognize the PS adjustments or something. I'll clean it again if I choose to use it. It took too much time to clean if I'm not going to use the shot. I think I'll definitely go back tomorrow night and try it again. I could definitely crop the extra sand, but I also definitely want to retake it!

Awesome picture and perspective.

Well I like all the sand! I like the crispness of it against all the softness from the long exposure. And because it's so sharp, I'm assuming that your focal point is quite a bit closer than the dock, and I like that also. It again highlights the dreaminess of out there opposed to here where we stand. I think this photo is pretty amazing (without the sensor spots, of course.)

@m9f9l Thank you Mary! I went back out Sunday night to try to retake the shot, but the sun went behind the clouds which left very little reflection in the water from the pilings. The shots were rather ho-hum. So I'll try again, hopefully tomorrow night. As for the sensor dust, I wasn't taking it out twice! Ugh! Thank you for your comments - much appreciated!!!
