One of the LA phenomena that confused me most when I first moved here was the marine layer that often hangs over the city. On the east coast, gloomy fog and a white sky signal imminent precipitation. But in California, these conditions are not necessarily accompanied by rain or even cold. I like how the fog makes it look like half of this building has been erased away.
