I live in the the county of Cumbria in the North of England. I have always taken a lot of photos especially when my girls were little. Some were good some were bad but at least they captured their early life. My youngest daughter has always called me a 'point and shoot' photographer, which is what I am. She has persuaded me to join this group in the hope it will improve my pictures. It has certainly made me look at things in a different way and notice things around me more. Most of my pictures are straight out of the camera, often with a crop to either bring things forward or to cut out something I don't want there.
I am very impressed and inspired by the wonderful pictures I see in this group, and would like to think some day I would be able to take some as good. I am hoping it will at least improve my photography trying to achieve the high standard I see. It has made me realize I have a long way to go and a lot to learn about photography and my camera, lighting and composition etc. I have no particular style, I just like to take pictures of things that take my eye at the time. Any comments on or advice about my photographs are very welcome and I will try to act on them. Sorry if I don't get round to thanking you personally for your comments but I do read them all and they are very much appreciated.I found I was spending too much time on this site so I'm afraid I don't post as often now, only when I have time or a picture of something interesting or one I particularly like. I still dip in now and again and have a whizz through the wonderful shots you all post.
