That looks grim. What are you doing in Auschwitz?

Looks cold and empty, well done on capturing the sombre atmosphere of the place.

Steve, I'm with Sue. What are you doing here? This looks so ominous and dark and uninviting The B&W makes it even more so. Very depressing.

Oh the bleak feel, fits perfectly. I remember when I visited the Auschwitz I was suprised of all the colours, I somehow had expected it to be b&w cos of all the pics and documents I had seen fron there.....this is sort of what I expected but got all the colours of spring. Well done. Such a sad place to visit, isn´t it

Your choice of mono is well-thought-out. Admirable photography.

@susiemc @jrambo001 @susale @danette @aglennc @lhart thanks
For your comments. A 4 day trip to Krakow, where the fog hung in the air all the time. A 1/2day trip to Auschwitz was a very humbling and sobering experience. This photo is the original discussed Polish army camp which became Auschwitz I. This was primarily a concentration camp, although executions and the first of the infamous gassing took place here. There were hundreds of visitors many in tears particularly young girls in their teens and twenties. This site is positive luxury compared to Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz II) see 5th Dec. I had to take the image back to mono to do it justice, the grey lifeless sky really helped me to get the emotive stake image that represents how I saw the place.
