Queen Ans lace sounds much nicer than Cow parsley ,which is what we usually call it, Guess what ? I took this shot whilst taking Snowy for his morning walk. I set the camera to super macro and shook the camera as I took this shot.
Cow's parsley...never heard it called that. Such pretty greens here. (Oh and my fiddler friend is a good friend of the friend who was sick...got that?)
Great effect! We call it dog's pipe (koiranputki). I don't know what it has to do with dogs, put the stem is like a pipe, hollow inside. Somebody's lace, maybe grandma's, wouldbe a very good name for it as it looks like a lace in many ways.
Diane, I certainly did not think you were being nosey asking about my friend...I am impressed you even remembered about him playing fiddle...you were correct though...my friend *does* play the fiddle as does the guy whose picture I posted yesterday. In fact, I met Chris through my friend. My friend is a retired cop and Chris is still on the force...the other friendship bond they have is bluegrass.
I am reading The Sugar Camp Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini and Queen Anne's lace and cow parsley were mentioned at the beginning. Somebody got a rash on his hands by touching it. Next summer I must try if it gives a rash on my hands. If not, it is not quite the same as our koiranputki even if the Latin name suggests it..
