Beams going, going, gone! by snowy

Beams going, going, gone!

We have got work men in drylining the eternal walls upstairs , it seems a shame to see them go ,but we still have lots of exposed beams. Hopefully this will improve the insulation .It makes a lot of work having to move all the furniture etc..I have to do some clearing up, so I will have to catch up making comment asp.
Would like to see the finish product. Nicly done with the different angles of the pictures!

They are lovely old beams but old houses aren't always all they are cracked up to be so will be good to get the walls done ! You will have some beams in the ceiling I would think too !

Sad to cover them but easier to insulate and decorate, hope you're pleased with the result.

It's goping to look so different, and when we remodeled my Grandparent's home, I had so many mixed feelings about getting rid of the natural woodwork. It was so nice, but it just didn't look right with the more modern walls. Now I wish I would have done it differently.

@digitalrn Our house will still have a lot of the original old beams, but it's too expensive to loose the heating through the walls these days

@snowy I hear you Diana, it is necessary to take all that into consideration.

What a change. I understand about needing to make this more heat retentive.
