The crooked spire on St.Mary's Church......

at Cleobury Mortimer dates back to the 12th Century is renowned for its crooked spire the result of its oak timbers, and damp-induced rot where the timber spire sits on masonry tower .(btw this was taken yesterday on the way back home from Stourport)

There's a crooked spire in Chesterfield as well but I haven't seen this one before. Nice shot

My mother took a photo of this when she passed through in 1929 but it is an awful photo so lovely to see this clear one!

Great crop and I love how it reaches up to the cloudy sky with the bit of fog sweeping over its top. How cool to see a crooked steeple!
