Since Fifth Avenue was closed north of 42nd Street (more about that in a few days), I headed west to Broadway and the iconic Times Square. Known as "The Crossroads of the World" and "The Great White Way", Times Square is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway theater district, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Times Square is the world's most visited tourist attraction, with over 39 million visitors per year.
Personally, it was way too much visual overload for me, so I could not wait to get out of there. Plus I was now late for lunch with my son, so I hightailed it south down Madison Avenue and arrived at lunch a bit late, but very hungry after an insane amount of walking all morning.
Great shot Danny. One of my favourite shots ever is the Eisenstadt shot in Times Square. Now you've thrown me a curveball, I expected you to head north!
You know, Danny, I've been saying that I really want to go to NYC for a seasonal experience next year, but I suspect that all along, I'll feel similar to what you've witnessed here. Good to see. . .good to leave! ;->
@lyno Lyn, I am not one who likes crowds or crowded places, so I have to be in the right frame of mind to do NYC. My two visits this year have both been incredible, but I had to mentally prepare for the noise and crowds. NYC is well worth visiting, it is the most exciting city in the world. It can get really cold there in the winter, but the weather for my June visit was perfect.
Now this is what I dream of when I dream of visiting NY ---- I want the LIGHTS - The ADS the WHOLE "FEEL" of the City --------- I will probably never get there - but It is on my bucket list............ (unreal bucket list --- but Still -- a dream ) BUT I can live it Through amazing People Like YOU that share your Shots and Words and ADVENTURES here! :) Thanks for sharing......... Nice shot!
@cimes1 Thanks for the fav, Carole! @seanoneill Always keeping you guessing, Sean! @x1nij Thanks for the very kind words, Marley! @sonnypichay Thanks Sonny, the NYC series was shot with my Panasonic LX-3 instead of my DSLR. I'm on the go so fast and far in Manhattan that a DSLR would slow me down. I never use a tripod, just have steady hands.
