If you saw yesterday's image, this is where the stump in the forest came from. There is a sad beauty to a fallen tree, especially at f/1.8. Best viewed enlarged.
Amazingly shot, Danny. We are in crisis in southern Ohio with the infestations of the Emerald Ash Borer. We lost 14 trees in our yard - luckily we were heavily loaded with hardwoods and still are fine in the summer. But throughout Cincinnati especially, our parks are full of marked ash trees that have to come down and the crews are slowly going through each park to eliminate hazards with these infected - and mostly dead - trees. It almost makes me weep. . .
@lyno - It's a very sad story, Lyn. That happened a few years ago in Florida and they came to cut my citrus trees, which I saw with tears when they were cutting them down.
I know what you mean but there are too many in my woods at the moment. I worry about its survival. Makes a great shot though with the textures and twisted branches
@jwlynn64 Thanks, John - I did very little in the way of processing on this one, it is pretty close to SOOC. Just a small boost of contrast and sharpness and a touch of velvia color.
