Carolina Anole Lizard by soboy5

Carolina Anole Lizard

Found primarily in the Southeastern United States, these lizards are closely related to iguanas. They extend their dewlap to court females and to assert territorial dominance. I only had my p&s with me when I saw this guy sunning himself on a friend's satellite dish. Best viewed large.

Nice shot. My wifes mother lives in South Carolina and she has them everywhere. We caught a couple and brought them back to Virginia. Kept them for about 2 years feeding them crickets then took them back to S.C. and turned them loose.
