One of the major innovations of the 1902 Delahaye Type 10B was replacing the belt drive with a chain. The chain drive proved to be much more reliable than a fabric belt and could handle far more power and torque. Best viewed large.
My first thought was how similar this concept is to the chain drive on the manure spreader I posted a few days ago. It sure is a whole different level of classiness, though. I enjoy the warm reflections you picked up in the car body.
