1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird

Arguably the most outrageous American automobile ever sold, the Plymouth Road Runner Superbird was created for one reason - to win NASCAR races. Back then, the manufacturers had to sell to the public the cars they raced, so this winged race car could be purchased at your local Plymouth dealership. It featured your choice of a 440 or 426 hemi engine, a racing nose cone, the largest wing ever put on a production car, and road runner cartoon decals. Totally outrageous and super cool.

I'll be heading back to civilization tonite and will catch up with comments tomorrow.
Love the blue

I don't remember this car, but I love that decal! Fun shot and love how you "snuck" in that bit of bokeh in the upper left corner :-)

Great clear, bright, fun shot! Great information too... I remember a roadrunner logo that said 'beep beep your ass' under his picture!

Brings back memories. I knew a guy that had the Dodge equivalent, the Charger Daytona, and gave me a ride once. Just once... The roadrunner looks perfect here.
