Upriver, it feels like Deliverance

Tucked away in the backwaters of the Apalachicola River, we discovered a number of floating shacks like this one. There is no land access to these "houseboats", and additional research has revealed that many of them are floating hunting camps which come alive every fall for squirrel hunting season. Even scarier, a smaller percentage of them serve as year-long residences! I could hear the banjos playing while we boated around these contraptions. This is day four of my five day facebook black and white challenge. Looks nice on black.
Now that I am all creeped out for the day. Such a good shot and title. Ack. Fav!

Beautiful b&w image. I love the ripple on the water. Must be very humid to live in a shack like that.

Really well done. I like the portrait orientation, gives a good perspective as to the size of these cabins.
