Welcome to Apalachicola, Florida. As the sun rises on beautiful Apalachicola Bay, it also illuminates the tin roofs of the many oyster and shrimp processing plants located on Water Street.
I have chosen this image to kick off my multi-month photographic study of the "Forgotten Coast" located on the Florida Panhandle. This is an area of amazing contrasts: there is pristine, untouched natural beauty in the rivers, estuaries, marshes, forests, bay and gulf. However, many of the man-made structures are in a state of disrepair.
So if you like either nature's majesty or mankind's grunge - or both - then this will be an interesting photographic study for you to view. Some of my images will be on the artistic side, while others will be more documentary in nature. In any event, I look forward to sharing them with you.
I will be one to follow you on this series, Danny. Love the beauty of this shot, the amazing sunrise, the silhouettes and the light reflections on the roofs. Fav.
