Our last stop at the North Rim was Cape Royal, located 23 miles from the lodge. We took the car for this journey. Once there, we hiked to Angel's Window - the natural limestone arch seen in this image. This is the Grand Canyon's natural skywalk, unlike the man-made one which mars the landscape. We walked on the ridge at the top of the arch, and peered down one mile to the canyon floor and 14 miles across the canyon to the South Rim. If you enlarge this image, you can easily see the Colorado River on the canyon floor. It is 6 miles from the arch. Next stop is Bryce Canyon.
spectacular! great that you got some people on the top of the ridge, gives one a great sense of perspective and size! Thanks for sharing the Grand Canyon, something I doubt I might never see.
