This is the view of Buck Canyon and the La Sal mountains that I took while standing under yesterday's Mesa Arch. I am perched at the edge of an 1800 foot cliff, it is straight down and there are no guard rails. This is how they do things in Utah. Proceed with care when you are in these canyons.
Directly in front of you are some of the more famous structures in Canyonlands. The tower on your left is Monster Tower. It contains an arch known as Washer Woman Arch. You may need to enlarge the image to see the arch. To the right of Monster Tower is Airport Tower. Behind the towers is the White Rim trail, then the White Rim and the La Sal mountains are 35 miles away in the background. Canyonlands is stunning, magnificent and awe-inspiring. Next stop is Monument Valley.
