This gigantic canyon - 277 miles long, 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep - was formed by erosion. No photograph can properly convey the feeling one gets from standing at the rim of this vast hole in the ground. It is the cure for feeling overly important :) Here is a link to the geology of the Grand Canyon: http://www.bobspixels.com/kaibab.org/geology/gc_geol.htm
Wow, what an experience that must have been. And you seem to have explored it very carefully to make sure you didn't miss anything. What would I have given to have been there with you!!!!!!
I have been to the Grand Canyon and you are so right about what you say. It is still the most incredible place I have visited. Love how you have captured that path that draws your eyes into and through the canyon.
I've never thought about it or at least I never went far enough to look for an answer as to how many grand canyons are there in the world and was shocked to learn that there are over 400! That is amazing. And the good old USA has 43 of them. Spectacular! Shot Danny! Fav! https://www.improbable.com/airchives/paperair/volume12/v12i2/CanyonFake.pdf
