On our last morning in Apalachicola, we sailed way north up the river to the southern tip of Lake Wimico. The lake is covered in a layer of yellow algae, but the river channel through the lake is clear and blue. What a contrast it made, especially with the cypress, mangrove and tupelo trees and swamp in the background.
We are experiencing green algae in our lake............not the greatest for swimming!
