Late night Boy by spanner

Late night Boy

My original post was so bad I got the boy out of bed to do a different shot. He struggled to keep still for a long exposure so it is slightly blurred. I have another shot which is much crisper but prefer his expression in this one. This is the last of the 'line' theme. I am going to do a week of black and white thinking about form next week. Well that is the plan....
I do like the low key approach here, I like how the face is lit and those light trails on the background are pretty intriguing

@susale thank you Suse. I am not overly happy with this shot but it was well past his bedtime.

this is a really lovely photo. c: i think the stars on his pajamas really add to the overall effect. c:

so is that the theme for your students (+ me ahah) for next week, too?

@reindash thanks Dasha. His pj's are cool.
If the students want to do the same thing it is up to them. I find I need a theme to help me work with purpose.

I love the soft lightning, and the softness of the subject, and the harsh lines behind him........brilliant shot!

@johnl Thanks John. The background is me waving fairy lights.

Lovely portrait of your boy - I'm sure he didn't mind being kept up late !

@ingrid2101 No he didn't hence the cheeky grin. Thank you for your comment.

@reindash Sorry Dasha if I was a little abrupt. What I mean by form is cylinders, spherical, cones etc. These might be bet done in black and white to accentuate their form. I hope this helps. Happy to have you joining in.

Oh no no you were fine! But thank you for the elaboration. c:

I like this as a lovely child's portrait, but I also like the effect of the lines in the background. Just seems to go together really well. I'm sure your son would enjoy seeing this portrait too.

@angelat Thanks Angela. I am lucky as my kids love (mostly) helping me out. He was more than happy to be out of bed. Thank you for your lovely comment.
