Discarded

I have always wanted to try social commentary as a style. This is my first attempt. This has been dumped by the side of the road. I like it because it is ugly. I dislike it because it is ugly. I hope that makes sense.
@spanner I Like it as a social commentary, especially the disjointed nature to this style of composite.

A while ago, I attempted something similar, which was pretty well lost here, due to the tiny size of the pictures on this site. Links below for the three from that initial exploration of this for me. I'll delete this message when you've had a look, I'm not after publicity, I thought you may enjoy them and would be interested to hear your opinions, suggestions, etc...

If there was a private message facility here, I would have gone that route...

@quixoticneophyte hello Alexander. Thank you for sharing those images. Please leave the links up, others should have the opportunity to see them. My favourite it the suitcase on the hill side. I think the light and composition works best for me. I would have preferred the tv one without the light being cast from it. I hope you are not offended by that. I don't think it needs the extra processing as it is strong enough compositionally. I really like the colour at the base of the sofa and how it is reflected in the sky.
I really am delighted that you take time to look and comment on my shots. Thank you.

@spanner Thanks for your feedback Spanner. The suitcase sunset is my fave too. The one with the lounge room setup was a big experiment, initially I wanted to do it with one of our 14 year old twins pretending to be playing video games there, problem was neither would pose for me, even if I suggested they pulled up a hoody to hide their identity. No offence for the TV not glowing, as it is, it doesn't quite sit right with me, the glowing that is.

I check out all your uploads and even get a smile from your adventures with Danbo!

I totally get it, there's a humanity and history with these items. Love how you've done this.
@quixoticneophyte - please leave them up! I don't have much time but would love to see them later, sounds intriguing

Haha, it makes sense.. but maybe not in the way it makes sense to you.. I like the picture but dislike the ugliness of what it probably looked like on the street.. Nice job :)

Yes makes sense, but how odd that someone just dumbs something like this on a road, you´d never see anything like this in my country so for that reason alone I find this fascinating, very stylish edit

Totally makes sense. Why people do that, I don't know. Only last week, I was driving down a lane, and caught a couple dragging a mattress across to the cemetery and dumping it there? Love the shot......I hope you do more of these :-)

@bec2702 @susale @allisonraposa There is a fantastic system in this city called inorganic day. People leave all (and I mean all) of their rubbish (chairs, old TV's etc not every day rubbish) out on the side of the road every 2nd year. Then the council comes by and removes it. There are often huge piles of discarded objects and lots of people scavenging recycling. It sounds horrendous but is very effective. They clean it away in a matter of days. It appears that this person was a year early. Thanks for having a look and commenting - I really appreciate your feedback.
