After Beckett by spanner

After Beckett

This terrible self portrait was all I could muster tonight. It is inspired by Lutfi Ozkok's portrait of Samuel Beckett. http://jeanmariegaley.wordpress.com/2010/06/17/en-effeuillant-la-marguerite/beckett/
Just messing around with processing. Nothing to see here. It seems my image has come out much darker than it is on my computer. Oh well.
Almost perfect mr Beckett! Even the expression... i like the shadows and backgroung, hope to copy you sooner or later.

oh that's excellent, be careful of the last resort b&w self portrait, it's addictive.

@semjaja this was the most painful shot I have ever taken. I don't think even in my most desperate moments I will be doing this sort of thing again.

never say never!, this is actually pretty good, great 45 degree lighting which I read about today, if it wasn't you you would probably think more of it, it will grow on you give it time. things are very often darker on here

What a great b/w portrait,love it !

I think it turned out well. Lines in the face seem to enhance a man's portrait, well done.

Quite a handsome chap aren't you. I think this is great. Very close to the original in expression xx

The tilt of your head tells a different story than the Beckett portrait. You are one, very interesting photographer.

If this is "terrible," then "good" must be more than I can handle :) I'm sorry you're unhappy with it - I hate that feeling. In my opinion this is a great portrait, the inspiration recognizable yet still your own. And I like that it's dark, but then I usually do. Thank you for sharing it, in any case.

Fantastic selfie, love the idea of having an image to take ideas from as it must help with the whole self conscious thing? Kind of thinking about how I would feel anyway

@ingrid2101 thanks Ingrid. It did help trying to copy an idea. Still hated doing it though.
