I struggle with colour as well, which is why I avoid it, but I do like this a lot

Why do you think some people struggle with either colour or b+w? I find it easier to shoot colour, there's more emotion/joy in colour.

Great image. Love the softness and the set of colors from the pencils. Fav for me.

Love the way the colours of the pencils are echoed in the glass and the shavings

@longexposure I have been thinking long and hard about this. I think colour adds a further element that complicates an image. Not only are you considering composition and exposure but then colour. With Black and white you can focus more on form and composition. Colours are not an issue. A wonderful composition and moment can be captured without Colour. Colour in turn can ruin that same moment/composition by being too garish or contrasting or vivid. Don't get me wrong images can also be enhanced greatly by the use of colour quite obviously. But for a simpleton like myself who struggles to coordinate what I am wearing, I find that colour just hurts my brain. I admire people who use/used it well. Saul Leiter springs to mind.
I have to say I love your self processed colour images. They are great and tempted me to have a look at doing it. Too much hassle at the moment. Digital for colour - film for black and white.
