Through the Glass

Boy laughing at me trying to take a photo. I am having a go with Light room. It scares me.
Very nice shot, as usual. I'd love to read more about your Lightroom adventures.

Definitely don't be scared of Lightroom. It's my best friend.

Great shot! I like his expression.

Outstanding

Also, Lightroom is terrifying at first...but after about two months you get used to it. It certainly makes me look like an average photographer rather than a complete balls up.

Totally love this shot! :)

Wonderful portrait

Excellent focus on your son's eye... LR certainly boosts me up to mediocrity. ;) You'll get used to it.

such a striking portrait! don't let lightroom get the best of you... there is definitely a learning curve, but it is so worth it in the end!

You will love lightroom. It's your digital dark room. I would start at the top and work your way down. Please ask questions if you need help. We are here for you. This photo is amazing!

He looks older in this one.
Youtube can be a good antidote to software fright.

@aprilmilani @catwhiskers composer pro with double glass at f4. Thank you for your kind words.

@spanner You really know how to get that to work for you! Inspires me to keep trying with mine:-))

@louuncouth He does look older here. In reality he still looks like a 8 month old because he has a big old bubble head.
The whole organisation of the files is hurting my brain rather than the editing itself (although I have a long way to go with that). Aperture was really simple - import and organised.
I made a book by the way. I am not sure it is going to be a best seller. I also had a go at a website with the idea that I might exhibit. Changed my mind about that though.

@aprilmilani I just don't understand the file organising system. Importing, exporting and editing is fine I think. Am I exporting the actual image or a copy?
December 16th, 2015
@spanner When you upload a copy is saved to your computer and in Lr. So the copy you have made an edit to in Lr is changed but the one on your computer stays the same. You can always make a virtual copy in Lr. That way you have both.

@aprilmilani Also the HSL panel (go to B&W). This will help fine tune your B&W. This panel gets over looked.
