Considering that this week there were 11 ships with about 4000+ containers I think we have passed that substantially. I looked up the stats and Seattle/Tacoma combine for about 300,000 containers per month.

@bill_fe A shipping container from 1987. I guess that was the millionth shipping container to be moved from a ship to a truck or train through the port of Seattle in 1987. I don't really know the story behind it, I just found that thing sitting there on pier 91.
