Mob Gassed at Smith Cove by stephomy

Mob Gassed at Smith Cove

"The Battle of Smith Cove" took place during the Maritime Strike of 1934.

@nanderson my Get Pushed partner this week challenged me to recreate an old photograph. It was tricky finding a spot to take this picture due to all the construction. Also, there was no mob being gassed either. I believe that this is the same bridge though, because it was built four years earlier in 1930.

I grabbed the 1934 image from here: http://depts.washington.edu/dock/34strikehistory_part3.shtml
Love the POV. Very powerful image!

Awesome picture and perspective.

Fascinating how your shot seems at once closer and farther away. Glad you didn't feel compelled to recreate a gassing.

@nanderson Close, this is under the Magnolia Bridge before there even was the Viaduct. Thanks for the challenge.
