The Fruit. by stephomy

The Fruit.

@roseolivia this week challenged me to capture an image representing the spirit of Christmas for me. One of my new favorite holiday traditions is to make a lot of mini fruitcakes for my friends and family. This year I used apricots, golden raisins, bing cherries, sour cherries, blue berries, homemade citron, and roasted pecans. I soaked them all in some dry sherry and brandy. I don't have a bowl big enough for all this fruit, so I had to use this big plastic container to mix the batter in. I managed to make 17 mini loaves this year.
@roseolivia I didn't forget your challenge this week. Here it is.

Hi there! tHaks for your challenge. As it's nearly Christmas, how about trying to get an image with bokeh? There should be lots of Christmas lights around for you to use. You can check up on how to do it on the internet - loads of you tube lessons...

@julieco Sound like a plan. Honestly, I've only ever gotten bokeh by accident, so it's probably a good idea for me to read up on it, and try some intentional bokeh. Thanks.

Fantastic picture.

yum. Grew up somewhat unaware that you were not supposed to like fruitcake. I think it's a delicious item, though have never had a spirit-soaked version.

@francoise I think the problem is that a lot of people don't use real fruit, they use that fake candy stuff. It's given fruitcake a bad reputation.
