Mystery Sparrow by stephomy
My birder husband believes it is a "Pine Siskin" (which we hardly ever see and only in the winter here.) The very thin bill, deeply notched tail, thin white wing bars, and streaky breast feathers...those are the field marks.

@houser934 I'm leaning towards an immature golden-crowned or white-crowned. I recently saw a pine siskin for the first time. They were smaller than this bird. I think the picture makes the breast look streakier than it looked in reality.

I think it is almost as hard to tell the sparrows apart as it is the egrets.
