This is an end of BNC or coaxial cable. I was looking round work today for things to capture for today's shot and saw this bit of cable poking out of a rack, and it somehow made me think of an eyeball just looking at me.
I got close and zoomed in for a nice DOF, and tweaked the colours, just to make it all hopefully look a little abstract. I like the fact that it's perhaps not obvious as to what you're looking at.
