So last weekend at the Download rock festival (formerly known as Donington Monsters of Rock) was another reminder of how cool my job can be sometimes. I was going round the bend on Wednesday trying to get ready for the job but the work paid off because the weekend ran very smoothly. And I got many chances when not operating a camera to actually watch some music, and being able to do so from the side of the Main Stage.
Although US metal band Slipknot are too heavy for me in general, I still appreciate that there were about 70,000 fans in the crowd who would kill to be able to watch the set from this position, and it was also a great show so I can respect what they do.
It was hard with my Fuji X20 to get a great shot so this will have to do.
