Day 351 - Swallow Street, London

Looks ok viewed large, on black if you have time :)

After filming the last of this years Christmas Lectures at the Royal Institute, I went for a drink with my colleagues. I was only supposed to have one, and that turned into another two. I left my colleagues in the pub and declared I was off to quickly go and find the shot for the day, and then head home.

I walked up Piccadilly, saw this view on Swallow Street and I then went off on a walk round central London trying to get more shots. I ended up in Soho, in Bar Italia drinking cappuccino at nearly midnight before heading home on the last tube.

I was loving the city in the rain, the way that the X100 was capturing the colours and the light, and the mood of the city was great.

A lovely roof canopy of lights ..reminds me of my shot in Dublin, only the second time I have seen lights like these!

@happypat They're great aren't they? But they seem fairly common in London. This shot from the beginning of the month of St. Paul's http://365project.org/stevecameras/365/2013-12-02 has some in the foreground like the one above. :)

I hadn't noticed the lights when I was there in August..must be a seasonal thing...very effective!

@happypat I think they're common for Christmas. That's probably an obvious thing to say - I think in August they weren't here.

@SteveAngell This is beautiful! I love colors when they are reflecting off water! Im glad to know that I'm not the only one that gets distracted easily when it comes to seeing something I want to shoot! Lol
