I was wandering round central London running errands including getting to one of the main Post Offices to get things posted, forms filled etc and the sunlight around town was awesome. I was determined to find a particular shot which I will go back to one day, but I was also trying to shop for something new and managed to find a shirt eventually.
I came out and thought about heading home and the weather turned and it started to rain again. I was taking some shots of the Christmas decorations which are now left un-lit before it started pouring.
I grabbed a few shots, then had to get underground. By the time I got back to Ealing it was horrendous so didn't take the camera out again.
@nicolecampbell Thank you!
And i'm not sure...just let me....*clicking over to www.google.co........*
It would appear not.
Not like the Empire State Building where the colours change throughout the year! I went there when it was a lovely yellow colour for Easter in 2004, looked very nice!
It's teeming with excitement. I think it's the duality between the monotone top and the color at the bottom (?). Not exactly sure what makes me stare at the photo, but I love it.
@herussell Hope, it was strange. I came out of a shop onto Oxford Street, looked in this direction and decided for the first time since arriving in the city a few hours earlier to grab a shot. I saw the same as you. The sun had disappeared, the grey was looming and the colours were just so cool. I was shooting for around 20 minutes but I think this picture was one of the first 3 or 4 shots I took.
Thank you for looking :)
Well,where shall I start! Love this on so many levels.... the red of the buses, the throng of shoppers and all that activity going on down below, leading up to the grey/blue calm tones above and, of course, those wow planets in Oxford Street. Great light too! Absolute Fav.
@jackie8 Thank you Jackie. The tweaks I did were very minimal. I spent the day in London doing errands in gorgeous sunlight which I resisted capturing because I was looking for something specific - a Big Issue seller, could not find even 1!! - and I came out of a store here and the light had changed to this. It was awesome so I had to capture it.
Ha that's a familiar siight, very nicely captured, I snapped a big issue seller in Knightbridge, outside Havey Nichols, but I think he was asked to move on!
@fueast Thank you Alison. I did a very slight tweak in Alien Skin Exposure, with a slide film preset. Just a gentle one, as I didn't want to change the colour as such.

(Great profile shot by the way...! :)
I really liked the lights at night. http://365project.org/stevecameras/365/2013-12-12
I managed the shot above but I was totally happy with it. I felt like I couldn't quite nail it either. This year i'll do better...! :)
