Day 030, Year 3 - Late Afternoon, Down The 16th

This is the 16th hole of Dubai's Emirates course, shot from the middle of the fairway looking toward the green, with the towers of the Dubai Marina in the background. It's taken at the end of the day, after the last golfers had gone through and just as we were coming off air and the sunlight is very nice especially when it is coming through the beams of the towers.

This really is a great 'looking' golf course, with some fantastic fairways and greens, and one that I would really love to play. But what I really like about it is the way the Marina and the locality has been developed around the course which when it was first built in 1989, was the only thing around here.

The vision of the rulers of Dubai to build this up is inspiring as they have built up it literally from nothing but the desert, and I will never get bored of the views around this course.

3 good things:

1 - Some great wind-ups with colleagues in the catering tent at lunchtime.
2 - My first beer in days with camera colleagues in a local hotel.
3 - Receiving a video message from Alexis telling me about her week which had me in stitches.
I love the contrast between the foreground and background elements, and the fading effect!
