The title refers to the legend that Norman Schwarzkopf headed up Operation Desert Storm from the top floor of the Sheraton Hotel in Doha. I have had a brief look online and not sure if this is really true but I did find an article that says he was stationed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Either way...I like this building. But I find it quite overbearing in it's design. So I walked round it this evening after dinner for about an hour taking various images of it and it's a strange looking thing. But the colours on the front change all the time and the green. blue and red colours are very striking.
At one point before the skyscrapers appeared, this was the only hotel, and the tallest building in Doha. It's dwarfed by all the towers nearby but from across the bay and round the Corniche this building is still very prominent.
3 good things:
1 - Good to finally finish the second of the two long days on site, given how windy and chilly it was in Doha today
2 - A good run after work
3 - Nando's for dinner with colleagues after the run
