Day 196, Year 4 - Mission Control, The World Feed Gallery At Troon

This is a shot of the main 'gallery' or control room of the World Feed coverage at The Open golf event, in Royal Troon, Scotland the week before last.

The panels to the left show every one of the 98 camera that were used for the world feed, (not including almost as any for NBC, TV Asahi and the BBC) with the Director and Producer sitting beneath them. The back desk to the right shows more production staff working on graphics and statistics as well. One of the most exciting places to be that week, particularly when we first went on air. When I popped in for this shot things had calmed down but still exciting to be in there.

3 good things:

1 - Excellent weather for the first day's play at Troon
2 - Great fun walking the fairways covering the golf
3 - Drinks in the bar at the end of the day
Very interesting shot Steve! Poor weather but turned out good in the end! Was talking about you this weekend as we had a Sky cameraman in working at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool for the World Matchplay Darts competition.
