Day 296, Year 4 - Sunny Snap At The Emirates

The only photo I took during the day on Saturday while working in London at the Emirates Stadium covering the football match between Arsenal and Middlesborough. I was hoping to get another shot from the main camera gantry looking square on to the pitch but didn't have time to do so.

3 good things:

1 - Mostly sunny weather during the day in London
2 - Good fun working at the match during the day
3 - Lovely dinner, drinks and company in Richmond in the evening
The big expanse is nice. BTW, what do you do for the TV network? which network indeed? Camera man, administrator, SME? It is so great to see so many sites from around the world from your travels.

@frankhymus Thank you Frank.
I am a cameraman.
I work in outside broadcasts and the company I work for have a large fleet of TV trucks that go from place to place. I am staff so as well as operating cameras I also prep them at our base just outside London, as well as look after the kit while on site. The match I covered here was for the BBC highlights.

All those opportunities for special views? Or do your producers choose and edit those on the fly and you just track the action to your best? Please keep us active in your travels.

Fascinating, especially as I am beginning to understand video stuff, moving stuff, with my Sony., distinct from stills. A whole different set of things to think about. This "rolling shutter" stuff for example I just saw this last weekend with the Sony a6300. Really nasty.

Thanks for letting me know where you fit in the scheme of things. Much appreciated...

@frankhymus Most of the events I work on are 'follow the ball' events such as football, golf and cricket. They each have a format so it's not random but a lot of it is routine. I am working at Wembley on Sunday for Sky Sports here and I will probably be pitchside doing the Presenter stand-up positions, so just having a couple of guys chatting. Very simple stuff.
Then football next week where were go with the action and are directed a little but still only as a reaction to what is happening on the pitch. It's kind of the same with most sports, and what I spend the majority of my time doing.
Hopefully with nice people and great weather.
And if not good weather...good catering ;)
