Day 309, Year 4 - The Sky At Night

This is in my village after the street lights have been turned off. I took my camera out last night just before midnight to grab a shot of some sort as I hadn't all day. The mist was quite thick and there was a lot of moisture in the air but it was moving around so you could still get a great view of the stars above.

When they turn the street lights off, and with no cloud you can really see an awful lot up there.

I grabbed my camera and played around with some exposure times to get a shot.

I really need to make an effort to go in land a bit where there is zero light pollution to see what I can get.

3 good things:

1 - Brunch at home, the house all to myself
2 - Getting clothes washed, and a few other jobs completed round the house
3 - A good run along the seafront
A really unusual capture, I always did like a house lit up at night! Fave.

You can see more than we can from here. We have to go out into the New Forest and even then there's all the sky glow from Southampton and Bournemouth.

beautiful stars. Fancy having the street lights turned off. It must be very dark if you have to be out and about

@happypat @humphreyhippo @cruiser Thank you all. It;s quite nice having the lights off...was strange at first but you get used to it. And the clear nights are a benefit...! :)
