Probably the favourite of my many devices to make coffee in the house is this cheap, supermarket-bought, french stove-top espresso maker.
The only thing that gives it away as a cheap version of the 'real' thing is the fact that it drips from the middle where the top half meets the bottom half when I pour the espresso into the cup.
Despite that it makes a lovely cup every time :)
3 good things:
1 - Catching up on some of my 365 uploads
2 - A lovely lunch that I made for myself
3 - A great workout in the living room in front of the fire - got nice and sweaty, burned a few calories and got the heart rate up for a bit :)
I have one of these that is about 25 years old; handle fallen off the top (replaced with a brass bolt -- maybe 6mm), and burned through who knows how many O rings. Eventually retired for a proper single boiler machine, but many fond memories.
@scotthouston It's great how you finish your comment with "fond memories". Coffee is more than just a drink for me - I hate to get all hippy about it but it's true. I get very exited most days when it comes to making coffee and the whole process is a pleasure, no just the drinking part, so I can completely understand your fond recollection of the one you used to have. :)
