I didn’t actually take a picture yesterday (I’m learning to be a bit more relaxed about that) but this picture was taken today and was fitting.

We lost Kit’s grandmother yesterday evening. We found out this morning. She lived in Canada so I only met her once (on her 90th birthday) but she was one of the most beautiful people I have ever met and I treasure those memories dearly.

One of my favourite quotes that helped me most when I lost my own grandmother a few years ago:

“From the stars we came, and to the stars we return” 💫

Gramary loved all forms of nature. Flowers (a keen gardener), birds, trees. She grew up in Vancouver with water and mountains and this passion remained always. One of the few pictures she could recognise in her last days was her childhood home, a watercolour painted in the 1920s. She might not recognise family but that house (sadly long gone) was part of her being. It would have meant so much being remembered today with this shot - it is calm and infinite in its reflection and depth. As you say, she has returned to the stars now, and belongs to them. Thank you, dear Stevie for being, in her eyes and mine, another grandchild to her.
