Today we went on a Township tour - we thought long and hard about doing it as we didn't want to feel like we were just going to stare but we talked to several locals and they all agreed it was a must and there would be so many positives to take away from it. They were certainly right - these children were so gorgeous and they were involved with a project that helped their mothers learn a trade. We also listened to a choir that had been invited out to Germany to perform next year - the power of their voices was incredible. There is still a long way to go to correct the awful things that happened during Apartheid but things are thankfully changing slowly but surely.
A lovely capture. We didn't do a township tour but, having been to SA during the Apartheid era and a few times since, I am constantly surprised by the integration that has taken place and the wonderful South Africans, both black and white. Still lots to do but I am impressed by the way things have gone.
