Quiet day on the photography front again, so it's my usual lazy last resort option... Dinner.. Sorry, it was that or a selfie, but I was hungry! After a Friday night gym session this is a perfect refuel !
But I did add a shot of Cape Town I quite like to my travel archives album, which is more interesting than this one if you have time ! :)
@onewing this also makes a great breakfast :) a healthy muscle building one at least! I try to convince my clients to exchange this for their cereal but it doesn't happen ...funny that !!
Fab shot, Ian- looks delish! I love the vibrant colours and composition! I just decided to trial vegetarianism for another week but this shot has me thinking twice about that lol!!
@streats no I'm just prejudiced against chickens and fishes...lol
haven't touched red meat since I was 14 and obviously I am somewhat older than that lol, not that I would eat red meat again but I have been feeling weak as in muscle, quite into diet myself, preservative free totally for about three years, only sugar I eat is scotch haha...and chocolate ocasionally
@gigiz Interesting, I approve on the clean food front ! I'm a huge believer in eating real food too, single ingredient food wherever possible, I stay away from the processed and the junk, on the sweet front it's dark chocolate and occasional homemade cakes only! I'm a personal trainer (as a sideline to my day job) so nutrition is a huge deal to me, a fascinating topic and so important to every aspect of our well being. Do you mind me asking why the aversion to red meat since that age ?
@streats you are so gunna think I am crazy after this one...
I went on a hunger strike kinda tantrum thing haha...then after I obviously didn't starve, I was very selective to what I ate...red meat actually made me feel kinda dirty on my insides during digestion. Then I got to the point I hated walking by a butchers store..I have really high sense of smell, it just smelt rotten to me. Then I cooked for a living and cutting up meat, blood, not my cup of tea. Mind I crave chicken wing bones, I will cook the death out of them so I can eat the whole wing tip and most of the next bone down...wow I can't stop typing lol
@gigiz haha no... not at all... I thought you were crazy before that one ! Joking :) Amazing the different relationships we form with food throughout our lives and from a young age too. Interesting story. Sounds like your body down regulated it's digestive enzymes then during that time and you struggled afterwards to process red meat, I guess if you'd have gradually reintroduced it the feeling may have gone as your body started to recreate the enzymes required. That's a theory anyway but might be rubbish. So now you don't get much meat protein ? But you crave these chicken wing bones ... wow ..I have to say ...that doesn't sound so appetising :)
@streats ha..good theory, I know it takes a lot to digest red meat,as in your single ingredient, veggies, salad, are watery and dilute the acid needed.
I was thinking of making weird nibbles at one point in my life...like your pubs with pork crackling. Wing tips were first on my list...they go like cracking honestly, the other one was prawn legs. You know when you peel a prawn and the front legs come off with a bit of the underside of the head, all attached lol...when fried in pan they go crispy too...but guess that one doesn't sound appealing either haha
