I had some spare time today, the weather was not good so my plans to go to the sea failed. I decided to use my time practising some photo processing, it felt more like fight against the program really but perhaps it was not complete waste of time afterall.
This is something I made real quick really, this is the kind of simplicity that I like when others use it but rarely have used it myself. To be honest I have no idea does this work or not...but what better way to find out than put it here so you can tell me. I guess this is one of those things that is a matter of taste. Oh and this charming little boat is from Greece holiday album, someday I may show you this in real colors
This works, and I like it. The blue is the right choice for this marine picture. I don't think any other monochrome colour would have worked half as well. It's a very peaceful picture.
I too really like this, great job! I really hope you don't mind me saying, and it is only my humble opinion, but I think it would be even better if you removed the buoys in the background so that there is even more negative space. Feel free to take it with a pinch of salt.
Works very well! The blue monochrome is a cool idea. I agree with @happysnap , the buoys are a bit distracting.... negatiivista speissii lisää vaan, mä tekisin tästä neliön mallisen kuvan lisäämällä yläosaan vaan tota "tyhjää"... se on helpointa kun siellä ei oo mitään detskuja. Mut on kiva kyl, bonusta noista kreikkalaisista aakkosista :)
@mercuria Thank you Ariel, yes I agree blue is the way to go when going marine and besides I love blue, so there really wasn´t any doubt about the color
@ginnykoppenhol Thank you Ginny for taking the time to comment
@happysnap Thank you Linda and no of course I don´t mind, I´m always very interested to hear how my pics could be done better so please feel always free to tell your honest opinion :) And yes I agree, those buoys need to be removed, I don´t know how I didn´t see it and like the idea of negative space too. Thank you for your suggestions, I very much appreciate them
@janim Thank you Jani, yes must get rid of the buoys, you´re so right, I wonder why I didn´t pay any attention to those before. Joo, tykkään sun ajatuksesta tosta negatiivisesta spacesta, täytyy kokeilla. Kiitos!
@denidouble Thank you Deni, I´m glad you think it works
@bristolrose Thank you Kathryn, I´m really happy you think it works
@channelf Thank you Channelf, yes I tend to agree with you too; the buoys must go
@jodimuli Thank you so much Joey, very much appreciated
@fishy Thank you Andrew, very much appreciate the fav
@eu4ria1 Thank you Ria, I was a bit afraid I´ve overdone it
@sansjuan Thank you Nita, I´m so thrilled you like the processing
@ness50 Thank you Vanessa, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment
@sjodell Thank you Sarah, yes I think so too, the boat and it´s reflection stands out better in monochrome. Thank you for the follow and I follewed you right back, I like your style very much.
@taffy Thank you Taffy, yes I agree those buoys need to go, I see that now myself too,
@ch1ppy_m1nton Thank you Chippy, glad you think it works
@eyesmile Thank you Gena and thank you so much for the fav too, yes you´re right, if it pleases the eye it works and I´m thrilled this pleases your eye.
Can you clone with those programmes? Those bouys would be really easy to clone out as they are not attached to anything else. Just to say, cloning would be the way to go if you are interested in trying.
@happysnap Yes both of them have that ability, I actually was going to do just that and add some more empty space too as Jani suggested. Thank you Linda :)
I love how it turned out, and I'm pretty sure that it's much more interesting than the original, which would probably be great photo, but something quite common and not as original and eye catching as this version.
Love the choice of toning here!
@tristansmum Thank you Stephanie, such a lovely thing to say
@lunaksi Thank you Lunaksi, you are right, it´s just a common photo and after posting this it would look very lame, so I´m sticking with this one. I love blue, so for me the blue is the only way to go, especially when thinking marine.
@dreamatrix Thank you, appreciate you saying so
@wind_of_the_sothern_sea Thank you Arefin, yes it´s a lonely boat, hey that could have been the title too...
@sturnus Thank you Carol, I´m happy you think so
