View from the hill

This is the usual view from Old Sarum, it was so dull and misty this morning, tried to get the layers, it sort of worked........
Great shot! I love the silhouette and the dark eerie feel as a whole!

Very nice with the dark foreground

I really like this - especially the layers and, more especially, the silhouetted figure!

Cool silhouette. :)

Very clever you have caught the atmosphere in the mist and still able to pick out detail in the landscape.

This is quite interesting. Love the atmosphere. This would be cool cropped in a little closer on the silhouette, but then you might lose the church steeple... hmm.

I think the layers are really good Susie. Lovely shot

It did work - beautiful. I agree with Marci but I think I would have taken it in mostly from the left with a touch on the right, but again you would have lost what you captured - the beautiful layering! I like it!

I love it as it is - Old Sarum and the Cathedral Spire are equally important to the area :) Gorgeous, and I've seen this very view for myself many a morning, so know it to be a great capture :)

It worked out very good! A photo with emotion.

I like this shot a lot, well done.

Really a nice shot - you did get the layers well in those conditions - the man looks so small against the landscape.

The layers really do work, nice bonus silhouette too
February 15th, 2015
The silhouette draws your eye first, then the layers open up. Nice!

Good shot. Lots of atmosphere

Neat shot! Love the layers!

Great shot!!! Love the silhouette of the man!!!

It did work! The layers are great!

I think this is a great photo - so often silhouettes like this are done with the obvious golden sunset, and this is refreshingly cold-toned. I like the hint of sun rays. Nice.

@melston I thought the same too Marci but opted for the 'bigger sky' in the end, still not entirely sure......

@tillystartedit Thankyou Katie, are you nearby too?

@susie1205 Not anymore, no, but we loved in Great Wishford for years when I was a child. I often travelled in from there with my dad to catch an early train to London, and we dog walked too :-)

Love the cool tones and the little glimpses of light leading us in on the left-hand side
