@northy challenged me to experiment with lighting and depth of field with my chess pieces. Here, I used a long exposure and small aperture. Then, I illuminated the Queen from above with a pen light.
As I was preparing for this shoot, I started looking through the records of chess games that I have played online. Instead of examining the strategic chess decisions, I was thinking, "Which of these chess positions is the most photogenic?"
