Wooden Fruit

I was going for something for the minimalism light/shadow theme. Well, there is definitely light and shadow there, but I don't think I hit the mark. I'm going to tag it, anyway, and try for something better on another day.
Those are lovely wooden fruits. Would you get something that worked with just, say, the apple in sunshine?

Same comment, Tim. I think the basic idea is great because the light plays nicely on the polished wooden surfaces, but there is too much stuff in the plate and that confuses the eye. You might get a better result with less objects, but this is just a suggestion, I might be wrong.

I wonder if a lower POV might have worked for you too Mr F? Lovely shadow cast, so your light source is spot on!!

I love all that wooden fruit, but also concur with the above suggestions. Look forward to your next attempt

@shannejw @etienne @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks so much for the suggestions. This community is so nice, that people rarely offer constructive criticism. I gain far more from comments like these than from comments like, "great shot."
Today was the last sunny day for a while, according to the forecast. I hope to give this another try.

I got so much from someone who gave constructive criticism when I was here originally - but I'm so rusty I'm having to relearn things.

Wonderfully sharp and beautiful textures. I do think there is too much "stuff" for it to be a minimalist shot. I sometimes think of a minimalist photos as being almost an abstract - but one which does allow you to see what the actual image is! After having a close look! I know this is probably not a valid idea but I find it helps me. Cheers Rob
