Double Decker Bird House

I was hoping to see some birds coming in or out, but I might have to wait for spring for that.

This is at the Old Manse in Concord, Massachusetts. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne called it (the old manse, not the bird house) home for a time.

A purple martin house ... I wish we had purple martins. Such beautiful birds. Can't wait to see it occupied next year.
