Update January 2024 - 6 months into the project and really enjoying the community here. Frustrated with the limitations of my bridge camera I now have a lighter DSLR and look forward to understanding all that it offers.
I have a long commute so my weekday photo is usually taken on a lunchtime walk.

A photo competition at work has pulled me back into this very absorbing pastime! I have blown the dust of a very old borrowed DSLR and look forward to capturing my world and daily life with pictures and a few words. 12 years ago I managed to do just that for whole year and then managed to repeat it for a second year. My camera then was very heavy and became uncomfortable to carry around daily especially with a 1hour 40 mins commute. So I gave up and sold my camera. I am looking to buy a bridge camera but will use this old DSLR with gratitude till then.
