I would like to give a big thank you for all the nice compliments I have gotten on my weekly collages of our lesson plans...I appreciate it so much!
My son has been so fascinated lately with how the body works so I thought it was a good opportunity to learn about that. We did several different art projects, including an X-ray "X", a shape person self-portrait, a magazine cut-out collage, and we made an X-ray machine out of a box and construction paper with real x-ray print-outs. It was a lot of fun playing with that! Our activities included a life-size skeleton puzzle, a body part labeling activity (he added a couple of his own labels) and some online games. We also went to the library and read some books on muscles, skin, and organs. We had some fun singing songs like "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and a new favorite, "The Skeleton Dance".
