"H" is for Horse

Farm week! We had a lot of fun with this theme. I talked a lot with the kids about how important farms are and how there are so many different kinds. Lots of crafts including the "h" horse, carrots with tissue paper, pig noses, and we made a barn out of a shoe box with working doors. Learning activities included sequencing with a farm theme, writing his own farm book, reading farm books at the library, and we did a fun activity with the song "Old MacDonald Had a Farm". The kids would pick out an animal from the bag and that was the animal we would sing about. My son had fun making it as well and we sounded out all the animal names. We have a lot of farm books and puzzles so we brought those out a lot this week. It was also a good opportunity to bring out the sensory bin and we built fences around the animals using popsicle sticks. I also couldn't resist making them some pig pancakes for lunch one day :) Lastly, we of course had to visit a farm! It worked out great since we were already scheduled to go with some friends. They got to meet and pet a lot of animals and had a lot of fun.
this is "H"appiness,totally:)
