Böttcherstraße

Bremen once was a rich town with a famous market square. But then again in the 19th century, the city lost it's leading role in the trade business and whole streets lost their purpose, too. That's when a coffee trader bought some houses in Boettcherstreet and let expressionist artist Bernhard Hoetger change the street's face. If you google the coffee trader, Ludwig Roselius, and the artist you can find details about their sympathizing with National Socialism and Hitler rejecting their art.
